The Woodland Haven Story

The Woodland Haven Story

What made a fox sit next to an owl? Why would a deer share her umbrella with a rabbit? How did the raccoon maintain his calm while the mouse enjoyed an apple from his basket? And was that a squirrel raking leaves and harvesting pumpkins instead of acorns?

All over this busy woodland village, we observed very cute woodland animals doing very odd things. Yet, the whole picture conveyed none of the peculiar vibes we expected. Instead, everything looked whole, serene, and even magical! This is the secret of Woodland Haven. To be precise, this is the secret behind every foster care and adoptive family.

The Secret

To foster or to adopt is a decision that will forever change you. It widens your understanding of what love really means and how far it can take you.

Like the woodland animals in the print, foster and adoptive families learn to love and work together as a team. The love they have for each other is what transcends diversity and brings forth unity. Because of love, different families from different backgrounds are willing to join together and provide a safe haven for children who are not of their own.

From Vision to Design

When we designed Woodland Haven with our artist, we wanted to communicate the message of love at a deeper level. We wanted a heartwarming print that reflected the spirit of foster care and adoption.

With your help, we took a poll of your favorite woodland animals and paired them together in the most unconventional manner. All our animals carried a tranquil and thoughtful expression to silently convey the perseverance of the foster care and adoption journey.

For those who have treaded the lonely but beautiful path of foster care and adoption, you would know that it is a road riddled with challenges. However, it is also a road filled with joy, hope, and healing.

Remember This

Woodland Haven tells the powerful story of true love. It honors foster and adoptive parents and their children for braving the storm and coming out stronger together as a family.

If you're a foster parent or someone in the middle adoption, please know that you have a community cheering you on. If you're an adoptee or a former foster child, please know that you are strong. We believe in your potential, your resiliency, and your ability to grow into the person God created you to be.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11).
